Show and Tell

Colleen's recently completed fabulous art quilt was amazing!

Sally shared her "Upe" doll she designed expressly for the Costa Mesa show.

Sally's dolls had hair made from German red crepe paper.

Rosie completed her doll from the Nola Hart pattern. With stick legs and an adorable face, she is a winner. The face demonstrates Rosie's talent as a graphic artist.

Another fabulous Nola doll for the exhibit!

Stephanie cut up an embroidered vest she found at the thrift store and made this beautiful fabric and bead necklace.

Suzanne finished her Frog Prince from Bett's class. Don't you just love the body fabric? Good job, Suzanne!

Mary's doll, made in the Lisa Litchenfels workshop, shows just how much work went into sculpting sheer nylon with a tiny beading needle and nearly invisible thread!

Pame brought several dolls made while taking a doll workshop in Europe. This one made of paper clay is a true work of art!

It was great to see Judy Fleck at the meeting. She brought some of her beautifully crafted jewelry to share with us.

Judy is working to finish this lovely bead and rhinestone cabochon. Her work is always inspiring.

Mary wore the shirt she made for the last Phoebe challenge. The challenge consisted of a paper bag containing a dark skinned cloth doll and some small pieces of assorted fabrics. We were challenged to make whatever we desired from these materials. Mary cut up the doll and used the body fabric, as well as the other fabrics, to create this wonderful appliqued design for a shirt back. She probably won hands down for the most useful challenge creation. Very cleaver, Mary!

  1. I liked your post. It has so many good ideas for my doll project. I am fond of making Art Dolls and I want to use your idea with my new doll stencils. You must try these stencils too, they are really helpful!
