A big thank you goes out to Jennifer, who continued her enrichment series by demonstrating how to further embellish our canvas tote bags using stamps and fabric inks. She brought SO MANY wonderful stamps and materials to share with all and we really appreciate her effort and generosity. She taught us how to carefully apply the Jacquard inks onto the stamp pads and to use double sided tape to adhere stamps to the acrylic bases, plus more! The techniques require a little practice and patience, which we will continue to work on. But it is honestly well worth the effort. Please bring your finished projects to the next meeting so we can admire them!

September 9 Meeting, (Saturday), 11:30 A.M. at Marcella's. Drop-in Social Get-together will start at 11:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. Business Meeting will start at 1:30 P.M. Sharon will be presenting the enrichment session, which will be making a journal using paper bags (see photo in show and tell section.) She will be bringing kits for everyone participating. Necessary supplies will be in this month's minutes. Also, the "Nature" challenge (earth, sky, and/or rabbit themes) will be due. See the recent newsletter for details.
October 14 Celebration. We will be meeting for our annual anniversary potluck celebration. More details to follow.
Enrichment 
These are photos of both sides of one of the tote bags Jennifer painted. What a great array of colors and prints.
A lot of work went into their creation and her stamp images are so perfect! She sets a high bar and is certainly an inspiration!
Even more inspiring are these tee shirt prints, because the fabric is prone to stretching. Once again, a perfect job!
Harlene also has the stamping technique mastered. Congratulations!
Kathy finished painting the background on both sides--also a lot of work, and lovely! Is there more to come?
Donna has one side painted so far. It is a copy of her watercolor painting of her patio. More colors and some stamping will hopefully be completed by the next meeting.
Geri is also still working on her painting and stamping, which she obviously has mastered.
Kelly, who now lives in Seattle, recently posted this photo of one of her needle work portraits on Facebook. She is working on some commissioned pieces and framing many others that she hopes to exhibit in the near future. Her work is definitely gallery worthy.
Rosie, in La Quinta, has recently acquired more new friends who are interested in learning new creative techniques. Her latest play day was about making her famous fabric tube necklaces, which she has taught many of us to do. Rosie has also had sessions teaching these ladies the basics of watercolor and alcohol painting. You go girl! We are all jealous you are no living in the Bay Area and unable to continue sharing play days with us as often as before. But we are thankful for the time when we do get to see you and for your alcohol ink and beading tutorials. Hoping for more in the future. 
Daisy displayed her colorful "Fire Fairy" doll. It was made using an elinor peace bailey pattern, which Daisy included in the latest newsletter.
Donna has spent a lot of time recently testing various acrylic and fabric paints on canvas. Some were successful, and some not so much. This sample was done with regular acrylics, felt pens and 3D paints.
And this one was painted with the inexpensive (think WalMart) craft paints that come in small plastic bottles. Probably not permanent, but easier to paint with. 
Caroline displayed a cute fabric basket, like the one above, that she had fun making. She recently discovered the project in a YouTube video. If you are looking for some new sewing projects, visit the many videos created by the "Crafty Gemini." What a great way to use up some of those small remnants that we all seem to save.
