Ode to Dolls

The Flying Phoebe Doll Club was created in 1987 and for decades the talented members created fabulous one-of-a-kind dolls that were collected, exhibited in many prestigious shows, and often sold. As time progressed, many members expanded their interests and created amazing art using various types of media. However, the love of dolls remains in our hearts and souls. The outstanding feature of the May meeting was the "Dolls in Literature" presentation by Geri. She brought many books that all related to dolls, the history of dolls, information about using dolls in stories and doll characters that are famous. Her presentation was so informative and interesting, and it reminded us why people cherish and collect dolls. Thank you, Geri!

  Show and Tell

The in-person attendance at the May meeting was below normal, but many members were able to join us on Zoom. While the number of show and tell items were somewhat limited for photography, here are the wonderful items displayed at the meeting by Bonnie, Sally, and Daisy.
Bonnie displayed her most recent "Barbara and Betts" embellishment challenge creations using a coin container. All of these lovely embellishments are made from paper.
Sally outdid everyone with her latest books and journals featuring her always amazing mixed-media art. There was a little book, a travel journal, and a book made from a giant piece of paper. Here are some of the pages that showcase her wonderful creativity and imagination.

Last, but certainly not least, is the original "Fairy Tale" doll by Daisy, posing in her cute forest chair.
