After a short business meeting and Show and Tell, our enrichment session began! Jennifer distributed a canvas tote bag to each of us and demonstrated how to mask out areas with blue tape. She brought ample supplies of fabric paint and materials to share, as did many members. We concentrated on filling in background areas at this meeting. Next month we will continue by adding painted and rubber-stamped designs. It will be so exciting to see how they will look when completed.

Show and Tell
Caroline shared her collection of crocheted doilies and hot pads.
Suzanne R. displayed a very cute cat painting that her 10-year-old cousin made by collaging laminated contact paper.
Betts created this lovely book that contains a very special surprise.
When opened, you will find wonderful, collaged items. It is like an etui—a small ornamental case for holding needles, threads, pins and scissors. What a beautiful idea! Oh la la!
Shawn recently took a road trip to Atlanta with family members. To pass the time, she took out a small journal and used it to sketch and draw as she traveled to her destination.
Daisy has been a dedicated Girl Scout leader for decades and is well known for her inspiring artistic contributions to all types of their group activities. While we have long been well aware of her many talents, these wonderful paintings she brought to share with us were a special surprise.
They are examples of her talent, as well as the girls she leads, and are painted with acrylics on canvas and paper.
Geri, one of our master card designers, unfolded one of her very special cards to reveal some of the folds necessary to create it. It is a complicated card to make, and the photo does not do it justice. Geri displayed her great generosity when she offered to let us each take one home. Thank you, Geri!
Geri also displayed some of her fabulous shadow box cards. They are three dimensional and also made with multiple folds and are decorated with beautiful ephemera.
Rosie, another master card maker, emailed photos of some of her latest creations. Some are beautiful paper collages....
and some are beautiful alcohol ink paintings as seen below.
Suzanne D. posed with one of her many, many beautiful quilts. Her quilts are always exquisitely made using beautiful color combinations.
Sally always surprises us with her novel innovations. This time she decided to think of a way to use up some of her washi tape stash. She tore it into small pieces and collaged them on cardstock or heavy paper. Then she cut them into bird and leaf shapes. Genius, and beautiful!
Sharon will be leading us in an enrichment session in the near future. We will be making a journal using paper bags, and she will be supplying a kit with the necessary materials. Stay tuned for more information in the newsletter and the blog.
